Some of our favorite customers are people who stood in the parking lot for a minute working up to it. Here's exactly what happens when you walk in, so nothing surprises you.

Step one: the door.

Every person who enters shows a valid government-issued photo ID at our check-in kiosk. Every visit, every person, 21 and over, no exceptions. Out-of-state IDs are fine, and if you're visiting from out of state there are a few rules worth knowing before you drive. No medical card needed, no residency requirement, no paperwork. The ID check takes about thirty seconds and then you're on the floor.

Step two: the room.

You won't find fluorescent lights and a take-a-number counter. Take your time. Look around. Nobody hovers, and nothing about the room is designed to rush you.

Step three: the conversation.

This is the part first-timers worry about most and it's the easiest. Walk up and say the actual truth: "I've never done this before." That sentence is the best thing you can say at our counter. From there it's a short conversation: have you tried anything before, what's the occasion, how do you feel about smoking versus something you eat. Step four: the purchase.

Everything is labeled with exact potency and serving information, required by New Mexico law and genuinely useful. Your budtender will point out what matters on the label of whatever you choose. We take cash and debit. State law caps how much any adult can buy in a transaction, and we handle that math so you don't have to think about it.

Rather decide from your couch? Order ahead at vesper.dispensary.shop and your bag is ready for pickup when you arrive. You'll still show ID at the door, same as everyone.

What you won't get.

No upselling toward the strongest thing on the shelf. Strong is not the goal, right is the goal, and for a first purchase those are almost never the same product. If our advice is a smaller, milder, cheaper option than the one in your hand, that's the advice you'll get.

One habit worth keeping.

Whatever you buy, start with less than you think you need, especially with edibles, where effects can take up to two hours to arrive. You can always have more later. There's no undo button in the other direction.
