    The route

Leave Red River heading east on NM-38 and climb over Bobcat Pass, the highest point on the Enchanted Circle at just under 10,000 feet. The road drops into Eagle Nest. From there, follow US-64 and NM-434 south into Angel Fire to 3465 Mountain View Blvd.

The drive is roughly 30 miles and usually takes about 45 minutes. Bobcat Pass is steep and winding, so allow more time in snow or after dark.

Good to know before you go

Cell coverage can be spotty on the pass. Load the address in your map app before you leave town. Watch for elk and deer, especially at dawn and dusk.

Cannabis must stay sealed and out of reach of the driver for the return trip, and it should never be consumed in a vehicle. Many lodges and cabins in Red River have their own rules about smoking, so check with your host.

Order ahead, then take the long way home

Place your order on the live menu before you leave Red River and it will be ready at pickup. Then, if the day allows, finish the loop back through Taos or retrace the pass with the valley at golden hour.

Cash and debit accepted, and all prices include tax, so the number you see is the number you pay. Bring a valid government issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older. Out of state IDs are welcome.
